neutral  Sandra & Kenneth Grossman: Upwall would mean at the top of the wall. Here, the term means on the lake side of the dam, i.e., literally upstream//As a keen runner myself, does it mean that running uphill is "amonte"? :)

  -> Multumesc! As I - albeit a keen swimmer - had surmised without a clear idea of the parament, there is nothing wet about the scenario. Otherwise, 9 times out of 10 in French at least, en amont means 'upline' or input and en aval 'downline' or output.
