Sé que suena obvia la palabra "burden" aquí... pero como dirían esta frase para que no sea tan calcada a "la carga de"..

No sé muy bien porqué quieres evitar la palabra "carga", que no sería calco en este caso, entiendo yo, sino pura y llana fiel traducción, al menos, en España peninsular.
Propongo así un redoble, para el day-to-day: sobrecarga.
