As you will see from the distribution map here https://www.owlpages.com/owls/species.php?s=1770 , the Great Gray Owl would be most unlikely to be heard in Britain. Note that the spelling "gray" is the American version of "grey" and that this owl seems to mainly live in North America.

By using the name of a real species of owl, you would lose the joke.

as Ulla says below, it's a barn owl, also known as a "screech owl" on account of its voice. This translates into German as "Schleiereule", so assuming this text is for synchronisation, you should discuss this with your client due to the huge difference in length of the expressions. The call heard is also not of a screech owl, but probably of a brown owl. These film script writers - they think they can get away with anything...

Hi Ulla! I've heard the same thing: The Great Northern Doomsday Owl". I've also searched on Google and it seems that there is no such bird. I think, as you said, that the writers made something up. I will translate as she said: "Great Gray Owl" because this bird exists. Thanks again and again for your precious help!

This one is tricky! She is clearly giving her opinion on what species of bird they are hearing outside, and I could swear I hear her saying 'the Great Northern Doomsday Owl'. However, there is no such bird! Still, it may be that this is indeed what she is saying and that this is a made-up species, since:

a) the shot of the bird just before this scene clearly shows a barn owl
b) the accompanying bird sounds are definitely not those of a barn owl (which in reality are screeches rather than hoots)
c) traditional names for the barn owl do include things like 'demon owl, ghost owl, death owl', so perhaps the writers made something up along these lines for whatever reason
d) she says the bird is rare, and barn owls are definitely not rare

However, I cannot for the life of me catch what she says just before, i.e. 'I think I know what it is. I think it's ??? Great Northern Doomsday Owl'. I also cannot hear a definite article before the bird name, so it may be that this is not at all what she is saying.
