English translation: Severe vaginal tear/laceration

Spanish term or phrase: estallido vaginal
The context is a table of procedures to be followed in the event of postpartum tears/lacerations. It comes under the heading of "sutura de desgarros." 'Vaginal burst' yields nothing but pornography. I have tried 'rupture' and did not find any convincing results, though 'uterine rupture' is common and appears in the ICD. I also found references to 'burst vaginal cysts'. Any other ideas?

The indication for a vaginal pack is to provide pressure against friable tissue, or to
help retain a Rusch intrauterine balloon, and is not an alternative to suturing the
majority of vaginal tears or lacerations. It may be used when a paravaginal
haematoma has been drained, in conjunction with a corrugated drain.

Identification of obstetric anal sphincter injuries
How can the identification of obstetric anal sphincter injuries be improved?
All women having a vaginal delivery are at risk of sustaining OASIS or isolated rectal buttonhole tears. They should therefore be examined systematically, including a digital rectal examination, to assess the severity of damage, particularly prior to suturing.
Repair of OASIS
General principles
Repair of third- and fourth-degree tears should be conducted by an appropriately trained clinician or by a trainee under supervision. Repair should take place in an operating theatre, under regional or general anaesthesia, with good lighting and with appropriate instruments. If there is excessive bleeding, a vaginal pack should be inserted and the woman should be taken to the theatre as soon as possible. Repair of OASIS in the delivery room may be performed in certain circumstances after discussion with a senior obstetrician. [New 2015]

Asker: See my post in the Discussion. I'm aware that it's a particular kind of tear. One of the reasons I posted the question is that I found references to an "estallido lateral" versus an "herida vertical".
