English term or phrase: segment

Eine Mitarbeiterumfrage, in der zu Beginn als Orientierung zum Ausfüllen die Begriffe/Positionen definiert werden:

"My Department" refers to your organizational unit, function or segment. "Client" or "Customer" refers to the business entity ABC Company provides financial services and/or products to. It can be in reference to internal or external client/customer.

Nachdem ich viele Einträge in Proz zu EVP (Executive Vice President) und SVP (Senior Vice President) gelesen habe, entschied ich mich, die Positionen nicht zu übersetzen, denn sie werden ja nachfolgend definiert, aber nicht nur die Abkürzung verwenden, sondern ausgeschrieben.

Dann sieht das bei mir so aus:

„Executive Team“ bezieht sich auf die Unternehmensleitung (üblicherweise EVP, Executive Vice President).
„Senior Management“ bezieht sich die Leitung (üblicherweise SVP, Senior Vice President) Ihrer Abteilung, Ihres Geschäftsbereichs oder Ihres ...

Aber mir ist nicht klar, was in einem Unternehmen mit "segment" gemeint ist.

Ich finde es eher als ein Synonym für Geschäftseinheit.

According to the Organization Theory, organizations may be divided into departments, functions, units or segments, whichever is appropriate. For that reason "department", "function" and "segment" are used together. The purpose of the questionnaire here is to classify the employees in accordance with the departments, functions or segments for further analyses.

Asker: Danke für die Antwort, Ali. Das Problem ist eben nicht die einzelne Übersetzung des Begriffs "segment", sondern die Tatsache, dass Begriffe wie "function" und "segment" nebeneinander stehen und daher eben wohl auch inhaltlich etwas anderes ausdrücken sollten.
