resonating sound upon auscultation of peristalsis/bowel movement

Explanation:
Pvz., pagal aprašą arba to skambumo kilmę (https://www.pasveik.lt/lt/naujausi-medicinos-straipsniai/pil... siūlau versti paaiškinamuoju būdu, nes specifinio med. termino, manau, šiuo atveju, nėra.

Kadangi pacientui visiška žarnyno/virškinimo stazė, nemanau, kad ten normalus skrandžio gurgimas, o tas "skambumas" yra dėl užkimštų žarnų ir dėl to atsiradusio jų įtempimo.

bowel sounds present

Explanation:
“The lack of bowel sounds is indicative of ileus, intestinal obstruction, or some other serious pathology.”
“In rare instances, excessive abdominal noise may be a sign of digestive disease”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stomach_rumble

Firstly, presence of peristaltic sounds (bowel sounds) is normal.
Their absence is a more frequent reason for concern in diagnosis.
“Ileus [...] can cause gas, fluids, and the contents of the intestines to build up and break open (rupture) the bowel wall. The provider may be unable to hear any bowel sounds when listening to the abdomen.”
https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/003137.htm

Secondly, usually it is not the loudness of bowel sounds that is significant diagnostically but rather the change (starts/stops) and sometimes pitch.
Thus, “peristaltika skambi” simply means that ‘the peristaltics makes some sounds’; it doesn’t say abnormal, overly loud, excessive, or out of the normal rhythm and/or pitch.

“The appearance of bowel sounds marks the return of intestinal activity, an important phase of the patient’s recovery.” (Quite detailed - in section “Abdominal Auscultation”)
https://meded.ucsd.edu/clinicalmed/abdomen.htm

Therefore, “bowel sounds present” would be an adequate translation.

disagree  Rita Vaicekonyte: As I'm familiar with the source text, the "skambi peristaltika" refers to bowel tension upon auscultation due to complete intestinal obstruction & the resulting lack of peristalsis. -True. The patient had to have extensive surgery as a result.

-> If so, then doctors use the term incorrectly. Peristalsis is the natural, normal physiological movement - not just the externally subjective impression; not just something caused by the examination. https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/peristalsis
