Prospecting is the continuous activity of finding new people to meet and approach about insurance. It is the activity of continuously getting contacts or qualified referrals.
It involves collecting names, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers marital status, and approximate age of children, trained purchase, occupation and profession, other interests and hobbies so that you can write, knock, or call to ask for an interview.
Prospecting is about identifying qualified people who:

• Need your products and services
• Can meet eligibility and financial suitability requirements associated with a particular product
• Are accessible to you
• Have a recognized need and become a desire.
• Have ability to pay
