English translation: and fixtures

Spanish term or phrase: y medios
This is from a Health & safety document and comes under the section "Acceso a centros ajenos - Normas procedimientos".

One of the rules is:

"Las escaleras y medios deberán presentar siempre unas condiciones mínimas de seguridad para su uso, no las utilice en caso de observar deformaciones o deficiencias"

Would you translate it as "and equipment"/"and related equipment"...?
Thanks

English translation:and fixtures
Explanation:
Obviously it does mean things like fire doors, alarm systems, fire hoses, extinguishers and things like that, but I think you can use a neutral term such as "fixtures" for this no problem.

fixture
/ˈfɪkstʃə/Enviar
noun
1.
a piece of equipment or furniture which is fixed in position in a building or vehicle.
"plumbing fixtures"
synonyms: fixed appliance, attachment, installation, unit
"the hotel retains many of the original fixtures and fittings"

So, the whole sentence would be something along the lines of:
"Stairways and fixtures must always present minimum safety conditions for use."

As I mentioned in the discussion section, I don't think the text refers to ladders here; I may be mistaken.

PS: Now that I know it's about ladders, "fixtures" is a non-starter. I'd probably just use something like "ladders and other equipment...
