mildly intense focal lesion on T2-weighted imaging Explanation: Examples: https://www.ajronline.org/doi/full/10.2214/AJR.13.11266 In contrast to T1-weighted sequences, which highlight anatomic detail and contrast enhancement, fluid-sensitive T2-weighted sequences depict edema, hemorrhage, mucus, or cystic fluid. ... In the differential diagnosis of breast masses on MRI, most masses that have high signal intensity on T2-weighted images are benign. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5823479/ by M Grant - 2017 - Related articles Aug 9, 2017 - Metastatic tumors (eg, breast, lung, melanoma, lymphoma) are up to 40 times ... isointense focus / on T2 Explanation: Para armar la frase haría falta un mínimo contexto adicional -ya que no he podido encontrar ejemplos específicos con una combinación equivalente (con T2 y la frase completa, incluyendo [focus]) pero isointense parece la denominación habitual de referencia para no hiperintenso mientras que en T2 suele expresarse como on T2 (con o sin la especificación posterior de weighted images/sequences). The descriptors used are hyperintense, isointense, and hypointense. https://www.google.es/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://... focus that is not T2 hyperintense Explanation: Conversely, concerning findings that favor biopsy include a focus that is not T2 hyperintense... https://www.medscape.org/viewarticle/844935_4 PHYSICS OF MRI Tissue can be characterized by two different relaxation times – T1 and T2. T1 (longitudinal relaxation time) is the time constant which determines the rate at which excited protons return to equilibrium. It is a measure of the time taken for spinning protons to realign with the external magnetic field. T2 (transverse relaxation time) is the time constant which determines the rate at which excited protons reach equilibrium or go out of phase with each other. It is a measure of the time taken for spinning protons to lose phase coherence among the nuclei spinning perpendicular to the main field. http://casemed.case.edu/clerkships/neurology/web neurorad/mr... |

normointense focus on the T2-weighted images Explanation: As the lesion is not hyperintense nor hypointense (referring to the contrast uptake or enhancement in the MRI images), I'd say that the focus is normointense (of normal intensity). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3100134/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2482943 https://books.google.es/books?id=9OMOfruKosgC&pg=RA1-PA157&lpg=RA1-PA157&dq=normointense+T2-weighted&source=bl&ots=pTTbUJhB5K&sig=sr0EksNP02 |
