Dutch term or phrase: voelparcours
Flemish text about infant development for childcare practitioners. In a section with tips on ways to encourage vocalisation in babies and toddlers:

Nieuwe ervaringen leiden tot nieuwe gesprekjes. Laat de kinderen nieuwe dingen ontdekken door ze bijvoorbeeld een kom met maïs, rijst of afgekoelde gekookte spaghetti te laten voelen met hun handen. Ga met de kleintjes in gesprek. Je kan er een heel **voelparcours** van maken. Met de voeten is het weer een heel andere ervaring.

I've tried various options with discovery, exploration, etc. but nothing feels quite right. Various sites talk about "een voelparcours met blote voeten" or even a "voelparcours" for blind people. I've looked at some UK childcare centres but they tend to concentrate on specific activities rather than the general experience.

I like sensory play experience, but it's clear from the context I gave that this is a touch/feel activity (not one that involves all the senses) so this works perfectly. Thanks, everyone.

sensory trail; sensory play trail

Explanation:
I think what you are describing is often referred to with the term ‘sensory play’, and I have specifically heard the term ‘sensory trail’ used.

“Sensory trail design advice:
6. Sensory trail design
A sensory trail has a series of experiences along a route that are designed to engage the different senses and collectively to immerse people in a multi-sensory journey. They are used in all sorts of outdoor settings - city parks, farms, woodlands, schools, hospitals and care homes - and can be great indoors too, in schools, care settings and museums for example.

A sensory trail has a focus on journey and movement. It can therefore have a direct application to teaching orientation skills, for example through people learning to recognise different sounds, textures and smells along the trail and gaining confidence in their own abilities to interpret the environment and find their own way.

Who is a sensory trail for?
Sensory trails are often planned specifically for people with disabilities, especially people with sensory impairments, but in reality encouraging people to use more of their senses is of benefit to all ages and abilities. ”

agree  Marijke Singer: Very nice indeed! However, I would not use trail (you are playing with food): sensory play experience?
4 hrs
-> Thanks! Yes, I think that would also work nicely.

neutral  Kitty Brussaard: Not sure if this is accurate enough here. 'Sensory' encompasses all the five senses whereas the focus here seems to be specifically on (stimulating) tactile sensory experiences.

-> Hmm, I'd have to see the actual text. You could also use something like “tactile trail” I suppose.
