CASH SETTLEMENT XXX shall pay to YYY the sum of R XXXX in full and final settlement of all claims that YYY may have arising out of the marriage. Payment of the settlement referred to in paragraph 11.1 shall be made in full on or before XXXX 2013.
Should XXX fail to pay the amount specified in paragraph 11.1 above on the due date, she shall be liable for payment of interest at the prime rate charged by First National Bank from time to time, calculated on the outstanding balance from the date that the payment was due until the date that payment of the capital and accrued interest (if any) has been made in full.

I have translated the Settlement Agreement as "état liquidatif"
I don't think this item should be translated as Règlement en espèces, because it is a settlement in the same order of ideas as the Settlement Agreement. As is also shown by the term "payment of settlement". and to say "paiement du règlement"would not make sense at all.
Please could those of you who are very knowledgeable in this area, give me a carefully thought out suggested translation, and maybe some French links confirming the use of their suggestion.

En général, c’est le signe qu’il est temps d’aller faire quelques pas sous des arbres, de s’assoir sous les nuages quelques minutes, de jouer avec son chat, enfin... des choses comme ça qui relaxent les muscles du cou et désembuent le cerveau! That term just means "payment of settlement amount." In the Anglophone legal context, we sometimes just use "settlement" by itself to refer to the money that the parties have agreed will be paid. For instance, "I'm waiting for my settlement, and when it comes I'm buying a new car."
So in your document, "cash settlement" describes the type of settlement (thus, paiement en espèces) and "payment of settlement" means payment of the agreed amount ("paiement du montant convenu," or words to that effect).
I agree with Germaine. As for the "cash settlement," since you confirmed that it means X is paying money to Y, this is really simple; it's règlement en espèces.
Not sure why you are complicating things? This is actually pretty straightforward.

En effet Un état liquidatif est un acte rédigé par un notaire dans le cadre d'une procédure de divorce, lorsque le patrimoine des époux est composé de biens immobiliers communs et que l'un d'eux en reprendra seul la propriété à l'issue du divorce. C'est bien le cas ici, car les époux ont 4 biens immobiliers communs, que l'un d'entre eux reprendra après le divorce. Mais peut-être que je m'égare et j'ai plus confiance en ton bon sens que dans le mien!
Je ne comprends pas non plus pourquoi "settlement agreement" n’est pas traduit "accord/entente de règlement". Dans mon esprit, un "état liquidatif" est un tableau d’inventaire de biens qui font l’objet d’une liquidation. Ici, il me semble qu’on a bel et bien une entente de règlement avec quittance complète:

Si le fait que "règlement" désigne à la fois la décision/conclusion et la somme consentie te gêne, peut-être peux-tu utiliser "indemnité" ou "allocation", mais ce n’est pas courant - ici, en tout cas.
I don't get this bit: "I have translated the Settlement Agreement as 'état liquidatif'." What English term have you translated as "état liquidatif'?
As for cash settlement, could you clarify what the settlement agreement says will be done? Is any cash (or equivalent, e.g. bank accounts) being conveyed from party X to party Y? Are non-liquid assets, such as real estate or personal property, being transferred?
It sounds like all of that is happening, and the part of the settlement agreement that refers to "cash settlement" is describing the payment of actual money by X to Y. Is that the case?
