Spitz zulaufende Kanten würden schnell wegschmelzen. Die Stege stabilisieren die Kan- ten, verhindern eine mögliche Verbreiterung des Wurzelspaltes und beugen so einem Durchfallen der Wurzel vor. Die Schwester der V-Naht heißt Y-Naht.
