you initially posted this question as a "PRO" question (rightly so), it's other people who turned it into a "Non-PRO question" considering that the answer is "too simple and obvious", which I disagree with. (about as "simple and obvious" as "consideration" in a contract meaning "being nice to the other party" ...)

Parties have agreed [that in such case - i.e. nullity of a clause] they will reach an agreement about another clause with the same economic effect, that will allow parties not to suffer damages from the possible nullity or non-execution [implied: "non-execution" of the illegal clause]

In plain speak: if what we agreed turns out to be illegal, we will just put together a different spin on it, so that no one loses.

"Surely a simple Non-PRO question" is meant as ironical comment (I don't think that this question is an obvious/simple one, on the contrary!) - I expected it to be clear giving what preceded it, and given that you are very unlikely to find "accord économique" in some bog standard general purpose dictionary, in which you will find "accord" and "économique" as separate entries , but not "accord économique".

As to what is "équivalent" doing in this story, you won't find it for sure in ANY general dictionary!

"Accord économique" means convention between States related to the "economy" [a far wider concept than "finance"] of these States, not really applicable to contracts between privates parties.

What is meant in this ST is most likely something along the lines of "commercial arrangement/agreement" [i.e. where there are mutual obligations, not a one-sided contract like a gift would be], and it DOESN'T automatically involve some "financing".

In fact the whole of "un accord économique équivalent" should be the question.

Meaning that if a clause turns out to be illegal, it should be replaced by another clause "qui a le même effet du point de vue économique/commercial"

Surely a simple Non-PRO question, any general purpose dictionary will do ...
