the sales are made in hot months

English translation: the warmest months of the year

English term or phrase: the sales are made in hot months
"According to the beer manufacturers, 60% of the sales are made in hot months."

What do you understand by "hot months"? Is it right here, if I mean the months when the temperature is really high? I don't want to use "summer" since in Brazil there can be very high temperatures even in other seasons, depending on the region.

Do you have a better suggestion for "sales are made"?

Thanks a lot.

neutral  Ildiko Santana: I agree with the "warmest months of the year" but I would not replace "sales" with "income." They are not interchangeable.

the four or five hottest months of the year.

Explanation:
They've just shortened it a little, haven't they.... The audience it is aimed at will no doubt know what it means, but it doesn't make it any easier for us to understand it!!!!

the hot months account for 60% of sales

Explanation:
If you are just looking for a way to avoid the clumsy "sales are made", without adding anything to the text that isn't already there (seasons not months, non-existent sales peaks, etc.), then I suggest the above.
To answer the other point, "hot months" to me suggests those months when the temperature is higher, yes.

actually, I don\'t really like \"hot months\", upon reflection. I\'d steal the other suggestions of \"the hottest/warmest months of the year\" for that - it sounds more natural.

60% of all beer sales occur/take place

Explanation:
however, it changes the tone and makes it more formal/academic...

to 'make sales' is good standard business language...

in hot months -> maybe 'in the hot months' might be better. I guess it refers back or forward to a description/definition of these so-called 'hot months' in the text.

the sales are made in hot season

Explanation:
To me you seem to be apprehensive about nailing down any specific season in association with "beer-drinking-time-of-the-year", I think replaceing "months" with "season" could be safer. It is vague, also leaves the interpretation of the timeframe to the reader. There are hot winter, there are cold winter, depending on the region as you pointed out (our calender is Northern Hemisphere invention, you know).
