thanks Robert. I realize it's a long shot. I thought it might be some slang I wasn't familiar with regarding the immigration process. I realize there is are a lot of colloquialisms surrounding the process that I don't really know. Is there a particular paper or process that someone from Mexico would say was the first step in trying to become a US citizen? A particular word for that paper or process? . Not having an "intricacion" in this context would be seen as a negative thing I should add.

post a bit more context, it would help to clear this, for future translators looking up this term. I am 100% sure that "intricación" translates as "intricacy", and maybe in the context is "we didn't even have a [single] hitch after all these years", which would make sense. In this case I would probably use "hitch" as in "issue, snag, complication..." But, as noted, some additional context would leave no doubt about it. ¡Saludos!

Thanks for posting more context and for choosing my answer, but looking at your context, it doesn't seem to square what I and others have posted. It sounds like it might be a malapropism or a word that was transcribed incorrectly, "indication" perhaps? Or "internación"? Can you post any more context?
