Italian translation: spostate dalla pista con manto erboso (ad altro tipo di pista)

"Bets will stand in case races are taken ‘off the turf’ [...]"

This is the context. I understand that "turf" is a kind of ground on which the race takes place, but I am not sure about the translation of this term in this specific field. I would chose "terreno erboso", would that be the perfect term in Italian for a bet website?
