You got to be happy you became the one that you are and not the one you should have been Explanation: This is not an idiom or any particulr swedish saying. I have never seen it before. Just someone being smart. (Good quip though) |

Be careful what you wish for Explanation: This is looking at it from the bright side. You could also look at it from the dark side and say that this is Jantelagen (google "thou shalt not believe thou"), settling for second best, "det bidde en tumme". More context would be needed to decide between the two. |

You've got to be happy with who you turned out, seeing as you didn't turn out how you were supposed Explanation: ...to be. I understand in the sense of 'since this is the way it is, it's better to adjust one's attitude and appreciate what one has/can do, rather than feel bad about what one does not have/cannot do.' |
