English term or phrase: horse of a different color
Hi, guys!

So, I came across this expression "horse of a different color" in the very beginning of a novel, where the text describes the shoes of a "sertanejo", saying: "Now let's talk about a horse of a different color". I suppose it is also a word play given such context.

Any insights?

E falando/para falar de uma coisa completamente diferente. Botas de cano (de couro) amaciado. Era o que aquele cowboy/vaqueiro trazia calçado.....

Notes to answerer
Asker: É a primeira linha do texto: Talk about a horse of a different color. Tumbled bark boots. That's what the western cowboy was wearing.
