German to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s) / Contract stipulating hotel booking conditions
German term or phrase: Zur Kenntnisnahme (Vertrag)
This is written on its own at the end of a contract, just before the signature, place and date:

Stand 01/11/2017

Zur Kenntnisnahme

Does it mean simply, 'I hereby acknowledge the above terms'?

If not, what exactly does it mean? A literal translation ('for acknowledgement') doesn't work in this context.

Thank you for your help.

...or attention.

Is what I think I would put. Or maybe I wouldn't even translate it, depending on whether you think the translation needs it.

neutral  AllegroTrans: I fail to see why this would be written at the end of a contract, albeit this is what it generally means

Explanation:
or more lawyer-like "in recognition of the aforestated" would be best here, although literally it means "to the attention of....", followed by a name

Notes to answerer
Asker: Yes. It still seems redundant, though. It is an accepted convention for contracts that, by signing at the bottom, you are recognising and accepting what has gone before. The need to explicitly state as much seems to me to be redundant here.

Explanation:
On first glance, it seems the meaning is different here but the communicative intent may be the same. In both cases, information is prefaced with a phrase that suggests keeping the information accessible in case the recipient needs to refer back to it at a later time.
