Looking at fair trade from the perspective of small retailers, the fair price becomes a triple, if not a quadruple, entity. The Palermitans who have made selling fair trade their livelihood ** held many of the same values ** about the prices paid to producers in the South as the local consumers. However, because fair trade was primarily a form of livelihood for them, they were preoccupied with a set of issues that was entirely peculiar to market practice and their position in the network.

Ciao Mario. Solo tu, conoscendo meglio il contesto, puoi chiarire questo dubbio. Io credo che qui sia più appropriata la traduzione che ho suggerito. E di solito, come l'esperienza insegna, in caso di dubbi la traduzione più aderente all'originale è sempre la più consigliabile.

è sicuramente corretta la tua seconda interpretazione, ma direi "sostenere", nel senso di farsi / essere portatori di valori

Asker: Ciao Gaetano, grazie per la pronta risposta :-) Ho un dubbio: non vorrà dire però che "i rivenditori palermitani trattengono in molti casi la stessa quota/percentuale dei consumatori locali dai prezzi corrisposti ai produttori al Sud ecc." (anche se in tal caso non mi convincerebbe la presenza dei "consumatori locali" in questa frase)... Oppure si tratta effettivamente di "conservare valori in materia di (?) prezzi?
