French term or phrase: en bandoulière
Hi,

"Les mécaniques enchantées et animées de l’artiste ont toujours rassemblé autour d’elles des gens d’ici et d’ailleurs, des étoiles plein les yeux et l’envie de partager en bandoulière".

The artist here is François Delarozière.

I have never heard this used. Maybe the writer simply means people flocked to see the artist's creations, people which had something in common (the envie de partager)..

Thank you in advance for any suggestions :)

English translation:hearts overflowing
Explanation:
As in: "hearts overflowing with the desire to share".

As Caroline suggests, I think the idea is that these are open-hearted/big-hearted people drawn to the artist's work. I'm suggesting this formula, which could go well with, for instance , "with stars in their eyes and their hearts..."

Alternatively, if you want to be more concise, you could consider using "starry-eyed and big-hearted" (the big-heartedness implying the desire to share).

neutral  Tony M: 'sharing' by definition rather implies 'together' — but this seems terribly weak compared to the source expression.

brimming with...

Explanation:
... a desire to share
Or bursting with...
en bandouliere when it is not literal has the implication of ostentation

And I think that in this context it is something which is really obvious and clear to see:
The people who come to see these works have stars in their eyes and are brimming with the desire to share
