You can't do it directly, Chris... you have to put your image somewhere on the 'Net — e.g. one of the image hosting services like screencast, imgur, flickr, etc. (or even on your own website, etc.!) and THEN you can post a link to it here.

It's cumbersome and time consuming, but other people seem to have got the hang of it and use the system regularly.

That was my first thought, too, but I agree that we need the full context. Sentence fragments are no help.

First of all, do you actually have the handwritten original in front of you? If so, please could you post an image of this phrase in it?
Also, what follows? I am suspecting a typo, since 'saison' is feminine and hence if 'cauvant' were an adjective, one might expect a feminine agreement: 'cauvante'; my suspicion is that it is actually 'causant' (= present participle, so no agreement), but it all depends on what comes next — does the text go on to explain what the rainy season might be 'causing'? This seems likely, since you say the document is explaining why something was not done.
