First of all, do you actually have the handwritten original in front of you? If so, please could you post an image of this phrase in it? Also, what follows? I am suspecting a typo, since 'saison' is feminine and hence if 'cauvant' were an adjective, one might expect a feminine agreement: 'cauvante'; my suspicion is that it is actually 'causant' (= present participle, so no agreement), but it all depends on what comes next — does the text go on to explain what the rainy season might be 'causing'? This seems likely, since you say the document is explaining why something was not done. |
