La traducción es sobre un ensayo de un medicamento y dice lo siguiente:

The drug was administered as an IV or intrathecal lumbar (IT-L) slow bolus at a dose level of 1 mg and volume of 0.75 mL. IT-L doses were administered over an approximate 3 minute period and were flushed from the catheter system with 0.5 mL of aCSF.
Mi duda es con la última parte "were flushed from the catheter system with 0.5 mL of aCSF."
Para la sigla aCSF encuentro que es líquido cefalorraquídeo artificial. Será que se usa para "ayudar" a pasar las dosis del medicamento por el catéter? Lo primero que se me vino a la mente cuando leí flushed from fue que, después de administrar las dosis del medicamento, se enjuaga el catéter, pero después vi el significado de esta sigla, así que no sería lo correcto.

Qué término podría usar para flush from?

Como ya mencionado en una pregunta anterior (aCSF), la idea de flush from the catheter es la de purgar la medicación del sistema; empujar la medicación (residual) con un bolo de LCRa [al pasar medicación por un sistema de catéteres es habitual administrar un bolo de suero para empujar hacia el torrente sanguíneo la medicación que pudiera haber quedado (residual) en el propio sistema. En este caso se utiliza LCRa].
