English term or phrase: bonded polar fleece
Bonjour,

Je traduis la description d'une chemise en molleton destinée à un public sportif âgé de 15 à 25 ans et je cherche l'expression consacrée du terme "bonded polar fleece".

Voici la phrase dont il est issu:

The thermally-elevated take on the staple plaid flannel shirt features bonded polar fleece, buttoned chest pockets and a removable, sherpa-lined hood.

Merci de vos suggestions!

molleton polaire collé

Explanation:
I don't think there probably exists a dedicated term, this would appear to be something concoted by this particular manufacturer.
I think my suggestion captures the essence of this feature — though i'd be the first to admit it is uncomfortably literal!

neutral  B D Finch: There are several methods of bonding fabrics, including ultrasound, heat and adhesives. So, not necessarily "collé", and I think the term would be "contrecollé" anyhow.

-> Thanks, B! Yes, absolutely; and indedd, J-Y came up with the 'contrecollé' — which however does seem to be the least likely method, doesn't it?

Empiècements en laine polaire contrecollés

Explanation:

disagree  Tony M: This appears to be a lining rather than any kind of 'empiècement' — and it would be untruthful to say 'laine', since we have no information as to whether or not it is actually wool (which is, however, unlikely); 'fleece' = style of fabric, not 'toison'

-> Yeah. “Laine polaire” is commonly used marketing term, although it is a little be technically incorrect. That’s why I also proposed “textile polaire” or “polaire” alone. “Empiècement” could be any piece of textile.

disagree  B D Finch: Polar fleece is polyester, not wool. There are several methods of bonding fabrics, including ultrasound, heat and adhesives. So, not necessarily "contrecollés". Also not "empiècements".
