IMO "enrollment" could actually be a better word for "participación" then "participation" here. It seems to be a standard phrase (please google it and you'll see). It also avoids the use of any possessive adjectives (his, her or their) and is very concise.

Although the Spanish reads "participante" (singular), you may want to use the plural in the English version, so you don't have to worry about gender issues (him/her).
