I think that, given that this is a "convention", the meaning is clear and it is not about money. However, Daryo is right that the addition of the word "légal" is unusual in this collocation outside the context of money being legal tender. Given the Asker's location, perhaps the source text is from a Francophone African country?
I have a feeling that Daryo's suggestion that the wording would have been clearer as e.g. "les dispostions de la présente convention prendront effet ... " is wrong. Perhaps AT might come back on this, but I think it is probably important that the effective date applies to the agreement, rather than specifically to the provisions of that agreement. |
