bad/nonperforming consumer loans Explanation: as in "This has been associated with a rise in bad/nonperforming consumer loans". This, or similar, is how this would most likely be phrased in finance and economics speak in the US. Nothing wrong with deadbeat or toxic (I mean, it IS wrong, but you know what I mean:))), except those are fairly colorful epithets, and that's exactly what you want to avoid in most business reports and such. You know, these are politically correct times and all that. Then again, ask yourself WHO you are translating for. If your client fully expects the usual Runglish, give them their expected "accounts receivable from problem categories of consumers" and be done with it. |
