This is not an issue of translation, it's an issue of nobody here knowing what is actually meant in terms of business process. So, all the entries are just guess work. It could be additional functionality re the company sending stuff, or it could be clients being able to use the app to send their own parcels (akin to having a FedEx, UPS or USPS account and software to do this (in the US)). You need more info from your client.

I'm not saying it's wrong but that I'm not convinced. It could be that the user chooses their own delivery service, but if the company is a delivery service, this isn't likely.

Why would a user app have a feature exclusively for the logistics company itself? Logically, "eigen" can only really mean the user of the app.

Bislang scheint die App nur für Empfänger eines Pakets nützlich zu sein, in Zukunft auch für Versender – also „eigener Versand“ im Sinne von „Sie, der App-Nutzer selbst, versenden Pakete“. Könnte das möglich sein?

on a Sunday. Would "dedicated parcel shipment facility" work as an emergency solution do you people think? It might mean something like registering the wrapped up parcel awaiting shipment at the customer's premises online using the Z app Y so that Z knows that it will be handed in or have to be picked up at the customer's premises, as the case may be - I think?
