Bride and Groom's Request Explanation: I found two or three uses of "memorial dos contraentes" online, but no explanation. They were all used in samples of power of attorney, so there's no way of inferring the exact meaning. I never heard it myself. It seems like we can drop the last three. The first definition is probably the one, but it's also vague. I would just use "request" or "request form" to be on the safe side. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 32 mins (2017-08-25 17:39:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Contraente: pessoa que contrai matrimônio (Dicio) https://www.dicio.com.br/memorial/ |

Special/limited power of attorney Explanation: http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/special-power-attorney.a... A special power of attorney, also called a limited power of attorney, grants an agent (also called an attorney-in-fact) the authority to act on behalf of the principal (the person granting this authority) under certain, specified circumstances. This may be uniquely Brazilian. There is no such thing in most common law countries, i.e. a specific power of attorney to get the marriage license paperwork. |
