English language (monolingual) [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law (general) / typo/wrong word
English term or phrase: whoever (contexto)
Hola:

Tengo una frase y creo que está mal en el original.

Frase:

It is whoever ensure that the information contained in the material safety data sheet is revalent to the product manufactured / handled or sold as the case may be by us.

Creo que debería quizás ser "It is HOWEVER ensureD that the information contained in the material safety data sheet is revalent to the product manufactured / handled or sold as the case may be by us."

Para el contexto, la frase anterior viene a decir que, aunque probablemente la info sea correcta, no se garantiza la exactitud de la misma.

¿Le veis sentido al original con "whoever ensure"? Gracias.

looks like a typo. Note it should be "relevant" as well.

I meant to say that I really can't see how it could be "whoever" here

It would be best if you have the original Spanish to translate the 2 snetences or post a question in Sp> En
The bit of previous sentence as given would seem to indicate that this should read something like

However, we make sure/confirm/verify that the information contained in the material safety data sheet is relevent to the product which is manufactured, handled, or sold (as the case may be) by us

OK so the Spanish bit is what you have already translated. (no problem as I translate from it) so you could give that bit in English as well

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you indeed. Yes, I have just notice 'revelant' is also wrong, but I'm translating into Spanish and in this case my brain was faster than my eyes and assumed it was 'relevant' from the very beginning. I will wait a bit more just in case and will award you your points. Thanks!

Asker: Btw, I didn't have the original Spanish. That was my translation from the English document. As I have just posted above, sorry about using Spanish. I selected EN-ES as usual, wrote the answer in Spanish and them I thought it was actually an EN-EN question and forgot to change the text...

agree  Robert Forstag: It seems that it can only be "however." The whole thing is a disaster, and looks like either machine output or the homework of an "English 101" student.

agree  philgoddard: Yes, not English as we know it.

agree  Tony M: Yes, though I think even corrected, it is still missing something; Unless it follows on from soemthing else, 'it is ensured' like this doesn't really make a lot of sense (e.g. by whom?)
