Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering / drilling and cutting machines
Dutch term or phrase: opspanbed
- Correa CNC freesmachine, type: A-16, afm. opspanbed: 2000x630 mm
- Strands kolomboormachine, type: 1400/2800, afm. opspanbed: 420x260 mm
- Roku universele freesmachine, type: RUM-5, afm. opspanbed: 1700x500 mm

The glossary I've been supplied with suggests (but does not demand) the word "drill" as a translation of "opspanbed" in the above instances.

I'm wondering, though, whether "table dimensions" is preferable for "afm. opspanbed". See http://www.graysonline.com/lot/0054-5008060/manufacturing/mi... or http://www.machinestock.com/en/machines.html/view/1124-10006... .

Can anyone confirm or correct this?

'Bed' for this purpose my sound for non-technicians in English as silly as it does in Dutch, but it is actually the standard term in both languages for a place upon which to clamp parts to be machined.

No, an "opspantafel" could be movable, while an "opspanbed" cannot

Notes to answerer
Asker: Does this mean that an "opspanbed" is the same as an "opspantafel"?
