waste storage areas Explanation: In the UK at least Calculating the Size of a Waste Storage Area 4.1. Introduction The waste storage area should be large enough to allow each waste container to be individually accessed and removed without moving any of the others. This is to ensure that: Residents/users can conveniently use any waste container at any time, without having to swap them around. Where this is not the case, users may be tempted to simply dump the waste into or around the storage area once the accessible containers are filled, rather than rearrange them. |

Existing refuse rooms and incinerator rooms which have been approved for such use, may be retained as approved. b. Existing incinerator combustion chambers may be used in whole or in part as refuse collection rooms provided the grates are removed and provided they comply with the provisions of section 27-837 of this article. c. Floors of refuse collection rooms shall be constructed of concrete and shall be sloped to a floor drain within the room, connected to the house drain. A hose connection shall be provided within the room. http://law.justia.com/codes/new-york/2006/new-york-city-admi... Refuse chute - A means of transporting waste materials by chute, from the point of disposal in high-rise residential (or office building) to a refuse collection room at the base of the chute. http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/refuse chute There are probably various other terms for it, here's another one. Each floor has its own laundry room, refuse disposal room, recycling and a community balcony. http://www.hocmc.org/rental-programs/properties/2-uncategori... |
