Tech/Engineering - Electronics / Elect Eng / cable unwinding
French term or phrase: portées non linéaires
Hi,

The context of my question is as follows:

"On fait une vidéo sur le déroulage du câble à l'aide d'un cabestan qui est un aide au tirage et qui permet aux équipes de maçons de dérouler plus facilement du câble sur des portées non linéaires."

Can anyone help with the correct technical term in English for non-linear cable unwinding?

Many thanks.

over runs that are not straight
Explanation:
You could probably make it more elegant by re-wording slightly around it!

I don't personally like the idea of 'non-straight runs'!

-> Thanks, Phil! Personally, I'm wary of that, since by definition a cable run is something inherently 'linear', if you see what I mean?

curvilinear (cable laying) sections

Explanation:
Other phrasing:

A careful preparation of cable and run can avoid a number of potential reasons for damages and faults.
:
The run is checked before laying the cable.
- Have the minimum bending radii prescribed by the cable manufacturer been followed during laying? If necessary the run must be modified.

LANCIER CABLE GmbH vibration cabling mole-ploughs have proved it many times: they are one of the most rational and economic methods for laying cables and plastic pipes - even along short tracks. Their state-of-the-art cable-laying sections are able to simultaneously install a number of cables or pipes, including their hazard-warning tapes and screening conductors in an extremely careful way, accomplishing high daily performances. A trench is not produced, so there is no backfilling or disposal of spoil. Too: It is very easy to directly blow in cables into empty pipes installed by this cabling mole-plough, because they have a very even run.
