A new trend that I first noticed when I accompanied someone to hospital a couple of years ago is that there is a completely separate emergency room called מיון מתהלכים. The other emergency room, to which we were not channeled, is probably called מיון שוכבים. It would be appropriate not for walk-ins, but more for seriously ill patients brought in by ambulance, for example. There is not much point in me trying to think up a name for this in English. This trend was probably not invented in Israel, but copied from overseas, and there is probably an accepted name for it. |
