Law/Patents - Law: Contract(s)
Spanish term or phrase: prima
A text that I am translating regarding recommendations for a standard footballer's contract in Central America includes a remuneration section that includes both "Monto total por concepto de prima" and various "premios" including those for "puntos obtenidos", "obtención de campeonatos y/o ascenso" and "clasificaciones y/o avances de fases".

The most appropriate translation for the various "premios" would seem to be "bonuses", but I am then not sure how to translate "prima" in the above phrase, which comes immediately after "Un sueldo mensual de ........................ ".

Nay suggestions greatly appreciated.

personal bonuses
Explanation:
I'm suggesting this on the basis of the distinction between "prima" and "premio" outlined in my discussion entries. I don't think it's really viable just to say "bonus" or "bonuses" for "prima" in (b), because you're going to have to say "bonuses" for "premios" in (c)–(e), and it's going to look as though (b) is the sum of (c)–(e), which I'm convinced cannot be the case. The premios described are obviously collective or squad bonuses: bonuses of which every player gets a share if certain club targets are met. But as I've said, all players get personal bonuses, normally a signing-on bonus, appearance fees and performance bonuses. These are not included in (c)–(e), the "premios"; they must be what "prima" refers to. So you could use "personal bonuses" for "prima" (making it plural, because there is virtually always more than one kind), and just "bonuses" for "premios"; it's probably not necessary to put "squad bonuses" or "collective bonuses" or "team bonuses" for that, because the distinction has already been made.

The "prima" is separate from the basic salary, which is the "sueldo" mentioned in (a).

On "prima", the Argentine legal document I mentioned before is very useful. Here are some extracts:

Prima de contratación is legally remuneration

Other primas not part of salary

Difference between prima and premios

Here's an article on the bonus structure of a Scottish club, Kilmarnock, which makes the same distinction:

"“If you ask any player, the basic wage is the most important part of their contract because they get that money whether they’re selected or out injured.
“The next thing in negotiations is an appearance fee. Virtually all our players get an appearance fee for starting or coming on as a substitute.
“Next, players can have personal bonuses written into contracts. They vary from player to player.
“The final bonus is the squad bonus and that is decided by the club."

basic salary

Explanation:
Since it is listed first, it sounds to me like his basic salary, to which additional "premios" are added depending on his performance. Like the "prime" in an insurance policy.
