ten sam major, co przy gnuśnieniu ;) jedyne, co mi przyszło do głowy i znalazłam, to officer/soldier on call - ale przecież do niego tak major nie zawoła... „To jest to. Dyżurny - do mnie!”
@JackMark: tylko mi ten NCO jakoś nie koresponduje z dyżurnym ;) No i ten major żadnych wielce ważkich problemów z nim nie poruszał ;) zmienili grafik :D

Ogólnie bez wdawania się w szczegoły jaki to oddział można powiedziec "unit leader". A jeśli chodzi o "do mnie" to mozna też "Approach me!". I odrotonie, pytając "Major, Requesting permission to approach!"
CO to dowodzący. Równiez "officer in command". Ale w tej sytuaji to zalezy of wielkości oddziału, bo trudno aby major wołał do siebie jakiegoś "orderly" aby rozmawiac o tym co robic z oddziałem. To może byc na przykład tez pluton (platoon) albo druzyna (Squąd/Section), a tedy mamy tez "platton/squad leader" a więc jakiegoś podoficera. Czyli NCO.
A platoon leader (NATO) or platoon commander (more common in Commonwealth militaries and the US Marine Corps) is the officer in command of a platoon. This person is usually a junior officer — a second or first lieutenant or an equivalent rank. The officer is usually assisted by a platoon sergeant. Some special units, such as specific aviation platoons and special forces, require a captain as platoon leader, due to the nature and increased responsibility of such assignments. Platoons normally consist of three or four sections (Commonwealth) or squads (US).
@JackMark: mam w tłumaczeniu "come here at once" - myślisz, że lepiej z report? A czy "report to me" nie oznacza raczej "zdawaj relację, raport"? Wiem, że "report" ma też znaczenie come, report for duty, ale "repot to me" brzmi, jakby miał jednak zdawać relację - a może się mylę? Proszę mnie tedy wyprowadzić z błędu

jak najbardziej, przecież pisałam :) i nawet wykorzystałam ;) (choć łamię się z tym "soldier!" lub "private!") a propos "orderly": ja się w tej chwili nazywa po polsku ordynansa? bo już to określenie nie funkcjonuje chyba? Ale oficerowie wciąż mają tego rodzaju pomagierów :)
geopiet, ciężko powiedzieć, jakie dyżurny ma stanowisko, oprócz tego, że na pewno wojsko i na pewno nie na stołówce czy WC - skoro go wzywa major, aby mu przyniósł, powiedzmy, gazetę :)
i chodzi właśnie o ten wołacz "dyżurny!" nie wiem w sumie czy major zawoła "duty officer!" czy "soldier on xxx duty?" - chyba długawe w tym kontekście? tak mi się wydaje... OD, orderly, seargeant są krótkie...

Reference information: Duty officer is the name of a rotating position assigned to a junior military officer in a duty or watch system. The duty officer is charged with responsibility for a military unit and acts as the commanding officer's representative. The duty officer attends to menial tasks for the commanding officer such as being at the scene of an incident and being on call during the night. This duty is in addition to the officer's normal duties. The duty officer's tour is generally 24 or 48 hours, after which he will be relieved by the oncoming duty officer listed on the roster or watchbill. The offgoing duty officer will turn over relevant data and documentation to his relief about the previous day's happenings, before returning to his normal duties (or going on liberty if his duty ends on a weekend or other non-work day).
