  -> Je ne crois pas qu'il s'agisse d'une traduction, le site étant français et parlant d'un parc français mais d'une sorte d'expression fourre-tout à la mode qui serait spécifique à ce champ d'activité...pour lequel je n'ai pas d'expertise

neutral  B D Finch: I think the essential meaning is that tourists travel to the area because of the park, whether or not the park has on-site accommodation.

  -> well asker's text says you stay there for a few days; we don't actualkly know whether there is accommodation within the park, but there could well be (e.g. Disneyworld)

neutral  Tony M: I have to agree with BDF's comment: a 'destination park' is somewhere you go to for its own sake, and not just somewhere to visit while in the area. So even if it was the only thing around, you'd go there. It might or might not have its own accommodation.

neutral  Sylvie Jeandet: All these examples relate to National or Regional parks, which are indeed touristic destinations. But I do not think the expression used in their case can be also applied to amusement parks. It does sound odd to me.
