entering Explanation: Similar to Peter's answer, but I think it's substantively different. "Accounting adjustment" can have some rather particular meanings. I think his answer would be clearly understood, and perhaps others will indicate a different opinion, but I think something like "entering lost and stolen tickets" is fine here. It's not an accounting updating process along the lines of monthly review of accounts and the adustments that need to be made in view of new information or a better way of organizing something, but rather a part of normal operations. For example, if you do daily reconciliation in a small retail outlet, the refunds are not calculated as a special "accounting adjustment", but instead are tabulated into whatever item name is given to "refunds", etc. I would disagree with "entering" if you think the customer-oriented aspect of the phrase is important to keep. The French term indicates something that says, to me, "this is something we're doing or did to fix a problem". However, for this translation I think it's OK just to say "it was entered". Like, you have to keystroke it in - a human does that. |
