A story:
Los causantes de semejantes fuegos -expresaba la voz perdida en el espacio y el tiempo- eran las, aunque suene contraproducente inofensivas por naturaleza, deidades nemerosas. En ese instante nuestro personaje recordó las lecturas de sus libros maravillosos y recordó el significado de la palabra nemerosa

Apparently, the word "nemerosa" means related to a forest or woods. Is there a similarly difficult word to mean that in English in order to justify character's remembering its meaning?
