THis is in the context of a contract for rail transportation. The guarantor/hiring party (Aufgabenträger) commits to either 1) reusing the car (thus guaranteeing revenue) beyond the expiration of the initial contract term, for the amortization period of the car, or 2) covering a shortfall if the provider/operator had to sell the car at a loss at initial contract expiration. (See links below).

With the guarantee in place, the provider/operator and its lenders have the assurance that the car won't lose money, and building/operating the car can be financed.

I'm sure this is pretty simplistic, but I think 'reuse guarantee' is the right term. Your document may give you more details.
