THis is in the context of a contract for rail transportation. I was able to find this link about a Wiedereinsatzgarantie, which enlightens me as to its purpose, but I'm still a bit confused about what it actually is (re-use guarantee, reimbursement guarantee, etc.) : http://www.zughalt.de/2012/07/s-bahn-berlin-wiedereinsatzgar...

There is this one example of it being called a "reuse guarantee" : http://slideplayer.com/slide/8515201/

"reimbursemetn guarantee" doesn't turn up any rail-related references. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Reuse guarantee
Explanation:
Reuse guarantee sounds right.

From a web search, a ‘Wiedereinsatzgarantie’ seems to ensure that the rail car provider/operator (here EVU) will not lose money on building/operating a car. The details of how exactly this is accomplished will vary, I'm sure. The links below describe 2 possibilities.

The guarantor/hiring party (Aufgabenträger) commits to either 1) reusing the car (thus guaranteeing revenue) beyond the expiration of the initial contract term, for the amortization period of the car, or 2) covering a shortfall if the provider/operator had to sell the car at a loss at initial contract expiration. (See links below).

With the guarantee in place, the provider/operator and its lenders have the assurance that the car won't lose money, and building/operating the car can be financed.

I'm sure this is pretty simplistic, but I think 'reuse guarantee' is the right term. Your document may give you more details.

I can only confirm the Asker's guess: reuse guarantee.
Sorry for the confusion. :)
