French term or phrase:livre-objet (here)
In a text advertising Parisian cobblestones for sale. Context: "Un courtier parisien en immobilier et un éditeur s’associent pour acquérir auprès de la Mairie de Paris les authentiques pavés de la place du Trocadéro, face au parvis des droits de l’Homme et à la tour Eiffel. La publication XXXX, sous la forme d’un **livre-objet** (édition limitée), signe leur volonté de rappeler l’histoire et les pierres avec lesquelles ont été bâties les symboles de nos libertés." I know that the term "livre-objet" has appeared before, but here, since the object for sale has nothing to do with a book (although one of the originators of the idea is a publisher), any ideas for an English term I could use, please?
You underestimate penguins, according to Wikipedia an Emperor penguin weighs between 22 kg and 45 kg. Again, according to Wikipedia:
"Pelicans are a genus of large water birds that makes up the family Pelecanidae. They are ..... The smallest species is the brown pelican, small individuals of which can be no more than 2.75 kg".
I believe I have several of these on my bookshelves.

A Parisian pocket-book, but I'm sure the idea of "pavé" as a hefty volume is still in there somewhere. They may be tiny, but they are dense, aren't they?

A penguin 2.7 kg is quite a bird! Maybe this could be translated as "penguin-object"? (Joke).
Interesting, but for having set 300 square meters of cobblestones in my house, I can testify that the "Paris" model (10x10 cm) is really tiny compared to the "Napoleon" (typically 20x20, 8 times as heavy) used in famr courtyards or the 15x20 flat model used for carriageways. So the "pavé de Paris" is rather a pocket book compared to the "in-quarto" of dictionaries or reference books, and hardly heavier than a fifty shades of grey
So, whilst "pavé" means a "weighty tome", and thus describes a book, the "objet-livre" is used to describe either a "beau livre", (the enormous, glossy art and design type books that some people leave on their coffee table to impress their friends (although some folk do read them!), or an object which is not actually a book, but one which bears an artistic reference to a book. Run "objet-livre" on Google images and you'll see what I mean.
The "détournée" aspect here is with the play on words, but also humouristic as a real "pavé" is not exactly an elegant piece you can admire for its intrinsic artistic elegance. It boils down to a big fat block of granite.

Don't overlook the obvious, and sorry if you already know this, but "pavé" is significant here as it is a term used to describe a book, (a weighty tome), also. There is a play on words - which I suppose is no accident - which probably jumps out to the French and which you may consider important for your translation... and which makes it all the more difficult! ;-)
But an object for books (or a scam, a cobblestone is worth 1-2 EUR), so as the French name is misleading, should the translator carry over the misleading name?

You or I may not regard it as a book, but that's how they've described it. It's an artist's book, or art-object book, or book art, in other words a book which is also a work of art. Reference information: First meaning, rather literal, an actual book which has value in its context but also its form, which may or may not be "détournée".
