"Se designó como defensora de oficio a XXX quien presentó respuesta de expectativa."

La contraparte es emplazada. La defensora de oficio no puede comunicarse con su defendido puesto que se desconoce su domicilio (probablemente en el exterior) y queda a la espera de las pruebas que se presenten.
Entiendo el concepto pero no conozco su equivalente en italiano.
¿Ideas, sugerencias?
