If you google "PRC-117G weight" you will learn a few interesting facts:

1) It's not an aircraft radio
2) The weights given here are wrong
3) The sizes given here are wrong (but not by as much as the weights)

That's exactly what I was thinking, and why I have asked for more context; the way the figures are presented above isn't very clear. But given the way a lot of a/c equipment is in the form of plug-in, exchangeable modules, possible this is an avenue worth exploring...

Context please!

At what point are they actually talking about this, and are these terms used to refer to any other items of equipment?
I have a feeling that it MIGHT be referring to the weight of the part of the equipment that is fixed into the plane, compared to the weight of what might be say a removable module.
It is also ocnceivable that it could be referring to the part of the modular equipment that actually gets fitted into the a/c vs. the part that remains on the ground (charging station, etc.) — however, this seems to me unlikely!

These are quite small pieces of equipment (30kg, 40kg, 13.95kg, etc.) so this cannot have much to do with landing weight (or mass). The total mass is apparently the sum of embarquée (payload) and débarquée, which is puzzling. You would think that the "masse embarquée" would be the total mass. I can only imagine that the "masse débarquée" would be the "naked"radio without wiring looms and connectors, but the sum doesn't seem to make sense - unless I have totally misunderstood the meanings!
