I've found the term brain as part of an shunt-trip device in a Circuit-Switcher. It's an equipment used in electric power plants, medium and high voltages. One sentence: The shunt-trip linkage at the brain has also been
factory-adjusted and requires no field adjustment. Another sentence: to make sure that the interrupters are closed and the stored-energy springs within the brain are latched. And another one: The interrupter target, located on the side of each brain housing, appears yellow when the interrupter is open.
