Hi Tony have a picture of the appliance but not of the valve. Its an electric coffee maker with a receptacle above the pot which filters the water through I suppose.

I think 'control valve' may be a little overstating it; most of these things just seem to be some kind of device for varying the size of the aperture, so you can adjust how fast it pours. Not really an actual 'valve' as such; it would, of course, help to see what actual form this thing takes — but as it's a thermally-insulated jug, the types I've seen have a sort of screw-in bung that you can open more or less according to need; however the use of 'couvercle' here might suggest some other construction. See if you can find the model and et a picture?
