German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Architecture / Building surveying
German term or phrase: Wechselblendenprinzip
Context:

"Für die Auswertung müssen die Aufnahmen des Stereobildpaares den Augen des Operateurs getrennt zugeführt werden, damit die gleiche Situation wie beim natürlichen Sehen vorliegt.
Die Bildtrennung kann optisch erfolgen mit Stereoskopen oder – bei digitalen Aufnahmen heute meist üblich – mit Shutter-Brillen nach dem Wechselblendenprinzip."

I know the principle, but can't find the correct technical term inthe context of stereo photogrammetry. I am guessing at something like "alternating shutter principle", but can't find anything to confirm this.

* Sentence or paragraph where the term occurs: See above
* Document type: Book
* Target audience: Surveyors/architects
* Country and dialect (source): German
* Country and dialect (target): British English
