Polyvinylpolypyrrolidone or ‘PVPP’, otherwise known as ‘crospovidone’, has the property of adsorbing haze producing polyphenols from beer and removing these from the solution. T A distinction is made between grades of PVPP suitable for single use and grades suitable for regeneration. The main difference is particle size. As no stabilising agent is 100% selective, PVPP also removes other components besides polyphenols. Therefore, flavour, flavour-stability (ageing) and foam characteristics of the final product may be affected.

Explanation:
Krospovidon (ili polivinil polipirolidon, PVPP) je polimer koji se koristi i u farmaceutskoj industriji (v. ref 1 - monografija iz Evropske farmakopeje 5.0), kao i za uklanjanje polifenola iz piva (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyvinylpolypyrrolidone). Dostupan je kao prah različite finoće (tip A i tip B -v. obe reference). Osim po veličini čestica, razlikuju se i po drugim fizičko-hemijskim osobinama (v. ref. 2).
