Co-location / co-tenancy / shared tenancy Explanation: After a quick search, I've seen this translated variously as co-tenancy / shared tenancy, or just colocation. From a tourist website I saw, apparently 'living in colocation' is a phrase that means living with a housemate. 'Un appartement en colocation' would be a shared flat/apartment. Joint tenancy Explanation: Just another possibility... I think we need to consider "cobaillage" at the same time, so the whole thing could be: "even where there is a shared/joint lease or tenancy agreement" This phrase is taken directly from a legal tenancy agreement: "Where this is a joint tenancy, the term 'Tenant' applies to each of the individuals... " It's probably a question of choosing the suggested answer that fits best with the context - this might be dependent on whether US/UK, domestic/commercial etc. The above example is domestic UK. It may also be picking up on the "joint and several" nature of the agreement - so that all tenants are responsible, collectively and individually, for payment of the whole rent amount, not just their own share. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day16 hrs (2016-04-24 19:46:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In the light of this question being recently reclassified as 'equipment leasing' - pointed out helpfully by writeaway, could the Asker provide ultimate clarification on what we are now dealing with please? A number of us are giving this question our best attention...Thanks |
