et dans le descriptif des sigles

"EW 0.00 Withdrew Failing (discontinued Fall 1994)"

Pourriez-vous m'apporter votre aide sur les termes "withdrew" et "withdrew failing"?

L'étudiant s'est-il désisté du cours ce qui aurait conduit à un échec?
