Law/Patents - Law (general) / Companies Code
French term or phrase: personnes liées
Translating some provisions of the Belgian Companies Code. Article 11 says:

Art. 11. Pour l'application du présent code, il faut entendre par :
1° " sociétés liées à une société " :
a) les sociétés qu'elle contrôle;
b) les sociétés qui la contrôlent;
c) les sociétés avec lesquelles elle forme consortium;
d) les autres sociétés qui, à la connaissance de son organe d'administration, sont contrôlées par les sociétés visées sub a), b) et c);
2° " personnes liées à une personne ", les personnes physiques et morales lorsqu'il y a entre elles et cette personne un lien de filiation au sens du 1°.

I obviously get what it means, but I'm just wondering whether we have a specific term for it in English. Thanks, folks.

neutral  AllegroTrans: what on earth has bribery got to do with this??

  -> To show that the transslation can, depending on context, go different ways. But well done on picking up on the point!

neutral  writeaway: I add my amazement at seeing bribery. I was going to mention it before but sort of hesitated. .

  -> Well, also well done on picking up on the point that 'one size doesn't fit all'! Perhaps you & Allegro, by expert default, agree with the first rendering of connected offered.

neutral  Daryo: why not also add "insider trading", "collusion", ... while you are at it?

neutral  writeaway: for companies?

  -> Yes, they are legal persons, though one could add "legal entities", it seems unnecessary.
